The Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offences Commission (ICPC) has announced the recovery of ₦13 billion in diverted public funds in September 2024.
This was revealed by the ICPC Chairman, Dr. Musa Aliyu SAN, during the unveiling of the commission’s Strategic Plan 2024–2028, held in Abuja on Wednesday, October 2, 2024.
In his address, Dr. Aliyu highlighted the ICPC’s achievements in recent years, noting the significant progress made in combating corruption.
“Over the past years, the ICPC has made substantial strides in fulfilling its mandate; for instance, we recovered over ₦13 billion in diverted public funds in September 2024 alone,” he stated.
Dr. Aliyu also emphasized the commission’s commitment to leveraging technology in its fight against corruption, outlining plans to enhance operational efficiency moving forward.
He called on the public and key stakeholders to continue supporting the commission’s efforts in eradicating corrupt practices from society.
The ICPC’s Strategic Plan for 2024–2028 aims to bolster the agency’s capacity to combat corruption through technological innovation, transparency, and public engagement.
