Refree Banned for Threatening to Kill a Player

A shocking scandal has rocked the UEFA Champions League after a referee allegedly threatened to kill a player during a match.

Slavko Vinčić who is a 41-year-old Slovenian official, according to reports uttered a threatening comment to FC Copenhagen’s Rasmus Falk in the 65th minute of the September 28 clash against Sevilla FC of Spain.

Falk reported the incident to his teammates and coaches, who later filed a complaint with UEFA after establishing the complaints.

“We take this incident very seriously,” “The referee’s behavior was unacceptable. We demand a thorough investigation and appropriate action” were the words of the coach of FC Copenhagen.

UEFA is investigating the matter and Vinčić is facing a disciplinary action which might result to a ban from officiating consequent matches.

The incident has raised a lot of questions in the football community, as calls for greater player safety is sought.
