The Action Peoples Party (APP) has recorded a landslide victory in the just concluded Rivers State local government council elections, winning 22 out of 23 chairmanship positions.
According to the Rivers State Independent Electoral Commission (RSIEC), the results were announced today after the polls were conducted across the state’s 23 local government areas.
The opposition parties managed to secure only one chairmanship seat, as the APP dominated the elections.
RSIEC Chairman, Adolphus Enebeli , confirmed the results, saying, “The commission is pleased with the peaceful conduct of the elections and the overwhelming turnout of voters.”
The APP’s landslide victory underscores its growing influence in Rivers State politics.
The party’s chairman expressed gratitude to the people of Rivers State for their support. “This victory is a testament to our party’s commitment to grassroots development and good governance.”
