The chattered institute of Bankers of Nigeria and the Body of Bank CEO’s of Nigeria laments over various cyber bullying faced by the financial institutions in Nigeria on various social media platforms.
In a joint statement, signed by Prof. Pius Olanrewaju, CIBN President and Dr Oliver Alawuba, Chairman, Body of Banks CEOs in Nigeria on Tuesday in Lagos obtained by Timely Publishers.It noted that investors believe in Nigeria’s financial institutions as the sector is one of the top in the country.
It reads ” The resilience and dynamism of the banking industry are built on the trust of its customers, demonstrating that the sector is a cornerstone of economic growth and development in Nigeria.
“Rather than being criticized, the continued strength of this sector should be a source of national pride.The banking sector is pivotal to Nigeria’s economic growth, contributing significantly to individuals, businesses of all sizes, and the society at large”.
He concluded by advising Nigerians to always channel their grudges to regulatory bodies so that issues can be resolved without having to call out the institution on the social media.
