In line with the federal government’s commitment to reducing unemployment and alleviating hardship, the distribution of 2,000 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG)-powered tricycles has commenced.
The initiative, aimed at improving public transportation, was flagged off by the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative in collaboration with the Federal Ministry of Youth Development.
Speaking at the event, Project Director Michael Oluwagbemi highlighted the significance of the development, stating, “We are here to deliver on Mr. President’s promise by handing over 2,000 CNG-powered tricycles that will form the foundation of this transportation revolution.”
He further noted, “These tricycles are not only for use in Nigeria but are also wholly assembled in a factory in Shagamu. Over 50 young people have been trained in the last three weeks and are now assembling these tricycles, with many more on the way.”
According to The Punch, the Minister for Youth Development and other key stakeholders emphasized the positive impact the initiative will have on easing transportation challenges and providing relief to the general public.
