Veteran Nigerian singer and rapper, Seyi Sodimu, has named Wande Coal as the most talented Afrobeats artist in Nigeria, stating that he influenced the musical styles of superstars Wizkid and Davido.
Sodimu made this assertion during a recent interview with comedian Teju Babyface, where he emphasized Wande Coal’s pivotal role in shaping the modern sound of Afrobeats.
According to him, Wande Coal was instrumental in the transition of the Afrobeats genre to its current new-generation sound, a style he believes was adopted by other leading artists.
He described Wande Coal as a “genius” who is exceptional at both singing and songwriting, and who is still very successful despite operating at what he estimates to be only 30 percent of his full potential.
