Jigan Demands N1 Billion From Portable Over Defamatory Song, Singer Responds with Incantations

Nollywood actor Jigan Babaoja has taken legal action against controversial singer Habeeb Okikiola, popularly known as Portable, demanding N1 billion in compensation over a song that allegedly mocked the actor’s physical disability.

The dispute escalated on Tuesday, when a formal petition was delivered to Portable at his Odogwu Bar. The legal action from Jigan is in response to a track released by the singer. The song’s lyrics are said to target a disability Jigan has managed throughout his life.

The feud between the two celebrities stems from a previously leaked WhatsApp group chat conversation that involved Jigan. Following the leak, which was reportedly first exposed by social media activist Verydarkman, Portable released the song that the actor found to be defamatory and damaging.

In a dramatic turn of events, upon receiving the petition, Portable did not issue a formal statement but was seen on video performing what appeared to be traditional incantations directed at Jigan. This reaction has since gone viral, drawing varied responses from the public.

This has sparked various reactions from fans and followers of the celebrities who are now taking sides. The situation has also drawn attention to the earlier WhatsApp chat leak, which had already resulted in negative consequences for Jigan, including the reported loss of an endorsement deal.
