Afrobeat superstar Davido is gearing up to celebrate his 32nd birthday today, November 21, with a highly anticipated live-streamed concert, the Davido & Friends Birthday Concert, set to take place at Atlanta’s State Farm Arena. Fans across the globe will have the chance to tune in to the sold-out event, which promises to be an electrifying celebration featuring thrilling performances, unforgettable surprises, and special guest appearances.
In partnership with streaming platform Kiswe, the concert builds on the success of last year’s A.W.A.Y Festival and is expected to showcase Davido’s musical prowess, alongside star-studded collaborations and celebrations of his career. This year’s birthday festivities coincide with the fifth anniversary of Davido’s acclaimed album A Good Time, which catapulted him to global fame and earned him numerous accolades.
Davido’s birthday celebration also includes a significant charitable contribution, as the Grammy-nominated artist has pledged to donate N300 million to orphanages across Nigeria through his foundation, the Davido Adeleke Foundation (DAF). The donation is part of his annual birthday charity initiative, which aims to support young people and orphanages in need.
Announcing the initiative earlier this week on X, Davido wrote, “Once again my birthday this year, we donating to orphanages and a charity that helps young people stay away from drug abuse & addiction. This year is N300m. Details to follow soon.”
The singer’s foundation, DAF, has a longstanding commitment to philanthropy, having donated over N200 million to orphanages last year, positively impacting 13,818 children. As part of his ongoing efforts, Davido reiterated his dedication to continue supporting underprivileged children and vulnerable communities in 2024 and beyond.
