Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen has pledged to help Galatasaray secure the UEFA Europa League title after his stellar performance in their 1-1 draw against Dutch side AZ Alkmaar on Thursday night.

Osimhen scored a sensational goal to equalise for Okan Buruk’s side, continuing his fine form in the competition. The 24-year-old has now netted three goals in his last two Europa League appearances.

Speaking after the match, the star made a bold promise to Galatasaray fans. “I said I would score a goal, I did. I make another promise; I will bring the UEFA cup to Turkey,” he declared confidently.

Reflecting on the team’s performance, Osimhen acknowledged the physical and mental toll recent fixtures had taken but praised his teammates for their resilience.

“It feels good to score a goal. We left with one point. We will continue. We may be a little tired mentally, as we had a match just four days ago. Our team’s performance was good, and we remain unbeaten in Europe,” he said.

Galatasaray’s draw against AZ Alkmaar keeps them firmly in contention in the Europa League, with Osimhen emerging as a key figure in their campaign.

Fans will be hopeful that the Nigerian international, known for his goal-scoring prowess and determination, can deliver on his promise and lead the Turkish giants to continental glory.
