President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has suspended the emergency rule earlier declared in Rivers State, directing Governor Siminalayi Fubara to resume his official duties on Thursday.

In a meeting held at the Presidential Villa, Abuja, Tinubu emphasized the need for reconciliation and governance continuity, urging political leaders in the state to put aside their differences and focus on the development of Rivers.
The President, flanked by key political figures during the closed-door session, stated that the suspension of the emergency rule was necessary to allow democratic structures to thrive while fostering peace and cooperation.

Meanwhile, in another development, Nigeria has signed a partnership agreement with a Dutch firm to establish a solar panel manufacturing factory. The deal is aimed at boosting the country’s renewable energy capacity, creating jobs, and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
Government officials present at the signing ceremony hailed the agreement as a milestone in Nigeria’s energy transition agenda, stressing that the project would not only strengthen power supply but also support sustainable development.
