Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has reaffirmed the state’s critical role in positioning Nigeria as a global power, stressing that Lagos remains the country’s economic and diplomatic gateway to the world.
Speaking at a public lecture organised by the Nigerian Institute of International Affairs (NIIA) in Lagos, Sanwo-Olu said the state’s strategic importance goes beyond commerce and industry, describing it as the “heartbeat of Nigeria’s global relevance.”
According to him, Lagos contributes significantly to Nigeria’s gross domestic product (GDP), international trade, and foreign investment, making it a hub through which the nation projects influence on the global stage
