Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) have arrested 93 suspected internet fraudsters during a raid on a hotel located within the Obasanjo Presidential Library premises in Abeokuta.
The operation, which took place in the early hours of the day, followed intelligence reports linking the facility to alleged cybercrime activities. The suspects were rounded up in large numbers and paraded alongside several luxury vehicles believed to be proceeds of fraud.
According to EFCC sources, items recovered from the suspects include laptops, mobile phones, and other digital devices containing incriminating evidence.
The anti-graft agency stated that the suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded. The EFCC reiterated its commitment to curbing cybercrime and warned youths against engaging in fraudulent activities.
