Former Minister of Interior and Interim National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), Rauf Aregbesola, on Wednesday visited Kosofe Local Government Area of Lagos State to flag off the party’s membership drive.
Addressing party faithful, Aregbesola called on Nigerians to reject the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections, adding that neither the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) nor the Labour Party (LP) offers the solutions the country needs.
“I want you to spread the gospel of ADC across your local government areas,” he charged. “A new vista of hope and opportunity awaits Nigerians in our party. We promise a new deal to reset this country on the path of development and progress.”
The former governor of Osun State urged citizens to register as voters during the ongoing INEC Continuous Voter Registration and to protect their votes on election day. He also stressed the need for mass mobilisation, assuring that party membership cards would soon be available.
Other party leaders, including former Lagos Commissioner for Housing, Rahman Owokoniran, and ADC State Chairman, George Ashiru, echoed the call for Lagosians to get ready for 2027.
Chieftain Funmi Onita-Coker thanked members for their sacrifice and patience, while Ashiru pledged that the ADC would provide honest, transparent leadership and ensure equal opportunities for all Nigerians.
