Doctor’s Misconduct: Mid-Surgery Incident Sparks Controversy

A UK medical tribunal has heard shocking allegations against Dr. Suhail Anjum, a consultant anaesthetist at Tameside Hospital in Greater Manchester. According to reports, Dr. Anjum abandoned a surgical procedure mid-operation to engage in intimate activities with a nurse, identified as Nurse C.

The incident occurred when Dr. Anjum requested a “comfort break” and asked a colleague to monitor the patient under anaesthesia. Instead of taking a break, he allegedly went to another theatre where he had sex with the nurse. A shocked colleague caught the pair in a compromising position, leading to a formal complaint.

Although the patient did not suffer any harm during Dr. Anjum’s absence, his actions have raised serious concerns about professional ethics. Dr. Anjum has admitted to the allegations, describing his behavior as “shameful” and offering sincere apologies to all parties involved. He attributed the incident to a “stressful time” for his family.

The tribunal hearing will continue on Friday to determine the consequences of Dr. Anjum’s actions.
