The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has secured the conviction of three more internet fraudsters arrested at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library (OOPL) complex in Abeokuta, Ogun State.
The convicts Adenekan Ayinde, Oyatokun Qudus, and Adisa Okikiade were among 93 suspects apprehended by the anti-graft agency during a raid on August 10, 2025, at a pool party organised within the OOPL hotel.
The sting operation, according to the EFCC, targeted suspected fraudsters “celebrating their exploits.”
Their conviction comes just days after four others nabbed at the same location were jailed, bringing the total number of convicted persons from the operation to seven.
Delivering judgment on Monday, vacation judge Justice Deinde Dipeolu of the Federal High Court, Lagos, convicted the trio after they pleaded guilty to the charges against them. Ayinde was charged with impersonating a white woman from the United States through a Google account.
He admitted to the offence, having already refunded ₦200,000 to his victim. An iPhone 14 Pro Max recovered from him was tendered in evidence. He received a one-month prison sentence with an option of a ₦300,000 fine.Similarly, Okikiade was found guilty of impersonating one “Anthony Krenn” on Google for fraudulent purposes.
He received the same sentence and option of fine after pleading guilty.Prosecuting counsel, Saadatu Yabo, noted that the commission would continue to present the remaining suspects in court “in batches” until all 93 arrested at the OOPL are tried.
