Nigerian singer and songwriter, Timi Dakolo, has announced a personal initiative to support parents finding it difficult to pay their children’s school fees as schools resume for the 2025/2026 academic session.
In a post shared on his official X (formerly Twitter) account on Wednesday, Dakolo acknowledged the heavy financial pressure many families face at the beginning of every term.
“I know it’s school fee season, it’s not always easy. I know this first-hand. So, let me help lessen that burden a little bit,” he wrote.
To benefit from the support, the artist directed parents and guardians to send copies of their children’s school bills via Instagram to @TheOyindaOlu. He explained that payments would be made directly to schools and proof of payment sent back to the parents.
“Just DM the school bill to @TheOyindaOlu on IG. We would DM you the receipt of what we sent to the school,” Dakolo added.
The announcement has sparked widespread reactions online, with fans and followers commending the singer’s generosity at a time when households are grappling with soaring living costs and skyrocketing school expenses.
For many families, the excitement of seeing their children return to school this term has been overshadowed by the rising cost of tuition, levies, textbooks, uniforms, and other essentials—forcing many to make tough financial choices.
