The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has fixed Wednesday, September 24, 2025, as the commencement date for the Batch ‘B’ Stream II Orientation Course across all orientation camps in the country.
The scheme disclosed this in a statement posted on its official Facebook page on Monday, noting that registration will run until midnight on Friday, September 26, followed by the swearing-in ceremony on the same day. The three-week programme will conclude with a passing-out parade on Tuesday, October 14, 2025.
However, the NYSC clarified that the orientation course in Kwara State will hold later than others, opening on Tuesday, September 30, and closing on Monday, October 20, 2025.
Brigadier-General Olakunle Nafiu, the Director-General of NYSC, urged all Prospective Corps Members (PCMs) to report to the camps indicated in their call-up letters and ensure full compliance with registration requirements. He stressed that foreign-trained graduates must present their international passports and original copies of uploaded documents, while graduates of polytechnics and monotechnics are required to produce their National Diploma certificates.
Nafiu warned against presenting fake documents, saying culprits would be handed over to law enforcement agencies for prosecution. He also advised PCMs who lost their call-up letters to follow due process: those who collected letters from their institutions must present a police report and sworn affidavit before returning to their schools for re-issuance, while those who printed theirs online can simply reprint.
Highlighting safety concerns, the DG strongly advised against night travels, urging PCMs to break their journeys once it is 6:00 pm and seek accommodation at military barracks, police stations, NYSC secretariats or corps lodges closest to their location. He further cautioned corps members to patronise only government-approved motor parks and transport companies.
On exemptions, the NYSC boss said married, pregnant and nursing mothers posted outside their husbands’ states of residence may be allowed to undergo the orientation programme in their states of domicile, provided they present evidence of marriage, identification of their spouses, and proof of residence.
He also emphasized that all PCMs must present original call-up letters, statements of result or certificates, school identity cards, and medical fitness certificates issued by government or military hospitals stamped by the Nigerian Medical Association. Medical and allied health graduates must also show proof of registration with their professional bodies.
“Any prospective corps member who refuses to report for service or participates illegally in the scheme will be prosecuted, as stipulated by the NYSC Act,” Nafiu warned.
He wished all prospective corps members safe travels to their various camps and a successful service year.
