Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of Lagos State on Monday swore in Hon. Okeowo Olufemi Akanbi as the new Chairman of Ifelodun Local Council Development Area (LCDA), charging him to prioritize service and community development.
The swearing-in ceremony took place at the Lagos House in Ikeja, where the governor formally welcomed Akanbi into office and offered words of encouragement regarding his new responsibilities.
In a statement issued shortly after the event, Governor Sanwo-Olu congratulated the new chairman and emphasized that leadership is fundamentally about service and unwavering commitment to the welfare of the people.
“I congratulated him and reminded him that leadership is about service and commitment to the people. I look forward to seeing the progress Ifelodun will achieve under his watch,” the governor stated.
Hon. Akanbi’s appointment comes at a time when the state government is intensifying efforts to strengthen grassroots governance and ensure effective delivery of development projects across all local councils.
Residents of Ifelodun LCDA have expressed optimism that the new leadership will usher in a new era of progress and inclusive governance.
