Fire Breaks Out At Federal Ministry Of Works Headquarter,Abuja

Earlier today, a section of the Federal Ministry of Works headquarters located at Mabishi, Abuja reportedly caught fire.

The incident was said to have occurred during the early hours of the day and was triggered by a faulty circuit breaker in the electrical control room on the ground floor which was immediately controlled to prevent damages.

Confirming the incident, the director of Press and Public Relations, Mohammed A. Ahmed informed the public that it was a minor situation and has been attended to.

“ A minor fire incident occurred at 11:30 am at Block A of the ministry. The incident was a result of a spark from a faulty circuit breaker in the electrical control room on the ground floor.” He said.

According to Mohammed, “ The Station Commander, Federal Fire Service, Federal Ministry of Works, Headquarters, Mr Kekai Bekebi, informed me that there was a quick response from his team, who were able to put the situation under control by deploying available fire extinguishers. He added that a successful evacuation exercise of staff was also carried out.”

He also stated that the Director of Human Resource Management, Mr Aliyu Abdullahi has confirmed that there was no loss of document, no injuries, and no casualties recorded and activities have resumed back.
