Dr. Samuel Ojogbo, a lecturer at the University of Lagos (UNILAG), is under investigation following allegations of sexually assaulting a 20-year-old female student.
Sources noted that the 300-level student, whose name is being withheld, reported the alleged assault to the police on August 28, 2025. The student claims that on August 22, 2025, at approximately 12:00 p.m. Dr. Ojogbo invited her to his office and subsequently forced himself on her. Following the incident, the student received medical treatment at a nearby hospital.
University management has acknowledged the allegation of sexual impropriety. They stated that the case has been reported to the relevant police authorities. Furthermore, the University’s Safeguarding Centre is actively providing support to the affected student during this time.
Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem, the Head of the Communication Unit at UNILAG, announced that the institution has established a panel to investigate the allegation. She also assured that the findings of the investigation will be communicated through the appropriate channels once the investigation is complete.
“The University is committed to a thorough investigation, promising justice for everyone involved”she stated.
Adejoke Alaga-Ibraheem further encouraged students and other members of the university community to report any instances of harassment or misconduct through the designated offices.
