Suspected kidnappers have abducted Omoniyi Eleyinmi, a senior faculty officer at Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko (AAUA), Ondo State, along with another individual whose identity remains unknown.
The incident occurred Monday evening in Supare-Akoko, Akoko South West LGA, as Eleyinmi returned home from work on a commercial motorcycle. Gunmen reportedly stormed his residence before his arrival. His wife, who had stepped out to welcome him, narrowly escaped as the assailants opened fire and seized him.
A family source said no contact has been made by the kidnappers. The university’s spokesperson, Victor Akinpelumi, confirmed the incident and stated that the school is working with the police.
Ondo State Police PRO, Olayinka Ayanlade, confirmed the abduction and said one victim has been rescued, with efforts ongoing to locate Eleyinmi. Further details remain confidential due to the sensitivity of the operation.
