TERROR IN ZAMFARA: Over 60 Villagers Abducted in Midnight Raid

Over 60 residents of Sabon Garin Damri in Bakura LGA of Zamfara State were abducted during a midnight raid by armed bandits. The attackers, who arrived on motorcycles around 3:00 a.m., went house-to-house, shooting sporadically and abducting men, women, and children. The operation lasted over two hours without any security response.

Eyewitnesses and community leaders say the abducted include school children and nursing mothers. No official statement has been released by security agencies as of press time.

Residents and civil society groups have condemned the attack, accusing authorities of negligence and slow response. Amnesty International Nigeria called it another failure of the state to protect citizens.

Security experts warn that continued attacks across Zamfara and neighboring states signal deepening insecurity and growing impunity among armed groups. Calls for urgent government action continue as the abducted villagers remain missing.
