Olamide Describes Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy as “Troublesome Friends”

Afrobeat crooner, Olamide has recently shared his perspective on his relationship with fellow Afrobeats giants Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy. In a candid interview, the artist, popularly known as Baddo, described the trio as his friends but also labeled them as “troublesome.”

Speaking in a recent interview with Adesope Live, Olamide offered a straightforward assessment of his colleagues. “Wizkid, Davido and Burna boy are all my friends, they are just too troublesome,” he stated, giving a unique insight into their dynamic.

While he characterized them in this manner, he also clarified that he holds them in high regard. Olamide noted that they are all “cool dudes,” but explained that their personalities sometimes lead to disagreements. He added that “sometimes many can’t align on so many things and that’s fine.”

The conversation also turned to the ongoing debate within the music industry about the Afrobeats “Big 3,” a popular ranking that almost always features Wizkid, Davido, and Burna Boy. Olamide addressed the fact that his name is often omitted from this list.

The ‘Story For The Gods’ crooner expressed that he is not concerned about his exclusion from the “Big 3” conversation. He made it clear that such rankings and titles are not his primary concern as an artist.

Ultimately, Olamide stressed that his energy and attention are directed towards his craft. He emphasized that his main focus remains on making music, rather than being preoccupied with his position in industry rankings.
