Los Angeles police have arrested a man accused of theft of suitcases that allegedly contained unreleased songs and footage belonging to the music superstar, Beyoncé.
The initial break-in occurred in Atlanta on July 8th, sparking a significant investigation that crossed state lines.On Wednesday evening, Atlanta police confirmed that Kelvin Evans had been arrested in Los Angeles.
The suspect was taken into custody on suspicion of stealing through the entry of a vehicle and for a parole violation, according to the report from the authorities.
The case began on July 8th when Christopher Grant, Beyoncé’s choreographer, and Diandre Blue, one of her dancers, reported a break-in to their rental car.
The singer recently celebrated her 44th birthday in grand style and was accompanied in Atlanta by the two for her concerts in the city at the time of the incident.
According to their report to the police, the window of their parked rental car was broken while they were visiting a local restaurant. They stated that two suitcases were then stolen from the vehicle, which they reported contained the priceless unpublished creative work.
“This case is unusual because it’s not just about a car break-in — it’s about highly valuable creative work that was potentially targeted,” an LAPD spokesperson explained to reporters. The statement underscored the high-profile nature of the theft and the value of the property involved.
