Kingsley Udoh, a former Nigerian defender, is struggling to come to terms with the loss of his FIFA U-17 World Cup gold medal. The medal, won in 2007, held sentimental value as it was kept by his late father.
Udoh, 33, was a key player in the Golden Eaglets’ triumph in South Korea. He represented Nigeria at various international levels, including the African U-17 Championship in 2007. However, his current situation is a far cry from his past glory.
In an emotional interview with Brila FM, Udoh revealed that he hasn’t seen the medal since his father’s passing. He’s now facing financial struggles, unable to feed himself or pursue a coaching course.
“I can’t find my U-17 FIFA World Cup gold medal… I’m struggling to feed, and I couldn’t attend a coaching course due to lack of funds,” Udoh lamented. His illustrious career, including stints at Akwa United, Heartland, Kano Pillars, and Sunshine Stars, seems like a distant memory amidst his current hardships.
