After the incident of Nigerian players being stranded at the Libyan Airport they have been punished for breaching CAF rules and have been fined to pay the sum of $50,000 and they have also lost the match against Nigeria by forfeit.
Libya were meant to host Nigeria for the AFCON 2025 qualifiers on the 15th of October but they decided to to be nonchalant towards Nigerian players by leaving them at the airport stranded with no food nor accommodation.
Players took to their social media platform to share photos of them sleeping at the airport and expressing how dissatisfied they were with the conditions they were facing.
According to CAF Libya have breached Articles 31, 81 and 151 of the CAF regulations and have declared that Libya have lost the match by forfeit by a score of three to nil (3-0) also they have been fined to pay the sim of fifty thousand USD within 60 days to the to the federation.
