The Southwest Zone of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) has chosen Alhaji Musliu Akinsanya, aka MC Oluomo, as its new National President. This election took place at the Quadrennial Delegate Conference in Osogbo, Osun State.
Delegates from Lagos, Ogun, Ondo, and Ekiti states participated in the conference, supervised by Acting National President Aliyu Issa-Ore. Mrs. Adedamola Salam, Head of Finance from the National Headquarters in Abuja, confirmed the election adhered to constitutional guidelines.
Tajudeen Agbede and Akeem Adeosun were also elected as Vice President, Southwest, and trustee, respectively.
In his acceptance speech, MC Oluomo emphasized unity and peace among members. “I have forgiven everyone who may have wronged me… This is our union, and we must remain committed to safeguarding it. We will not let anyone jeopardize our source of livelihood.”
