Federal Capital Territory Minister Nyesom Wike has lauded President Bola Tinubu for his move to restore democratic governance following the lifting of emergency rule in Rivers State.
The commendation was made according to a statement released on Wednesday in Abuja by Lere Olayinka, Wike’s Senior Special Assistant on Public Communications and Social Media.
The minister stated that the President’s actions showcased his dedication to peace and the preservation of democracy, adding that this proactive approach had a positive impact on the state.
Wike noted that the President’s intervention had rebuilt the trust of the Rivers people in his leadership.
He also praised the state’s residents for their faith in the president and their ongoing backing of his efforts to advance the nation’s progress and development.
Wike urged all stakeholders in the State to collaborate peacefully for the benefit of the State and its citizens.
The minister warned those looking to cause trouble, particularly those hoping to profit from unrest, to stay away from the state.
He added that, “from Rivers State going forward, the only news that will be shared will be that of peace, progress and development”.
