The Aide-de-Camp (ADC) to Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Remi Tinubu, has clarified that the completion of the National Library project is the constitutional responsibility of the Federal Government and should not be mistaken as a birthday gift initiative.
This clarification comes following reports that linked the ongoing works at the National Library to the celebration of Senator Tinubu’s recent birthday. According to the ADC, the project is a long-standing government obligation aimed at promoting education, research, and national development, and should not be politicized or personalized.
“The completion of the National Library is not a birthday project but a statutory responsibility of government to the people,” the ADC stated, emphasizing that the First Lady remains committed to supporting initiatives that enhance literacy and knowledge across the country, but the project itself is not tied to her personal milestones.
