Veteran Nigerian musician, Ebenezer Obey, has shut down circulating rumours claiming he is dead or battling a stroke, describing the reports as “lies from the kingdom of darkness.”
In a video shared on his official Instagram page, the music legend appeared in high spirits alongside his two sons, singing joyfully to reassure fans of his well-being.
The video was captioned: “Stop the rumours!!!! Ebenezer Obey is alive and well.”Obey clarified that he is currently in London for personal health care and wellness, not due to any medical emergency.
He expressed disappointment over the widespread misinformation, which included manipulated images of coffins and funeral announcements.“This is nothing but lies from the kingdom of darkness,” Obey said in the video.
“I am alive, I am alive, says the Lord Jesus Christ. Thank you very much. I don’t have a stroke. I came to London to look after myself.”
This isn’t the first time the music icon has had to address such false reports. Similar death hoaxes circulated in 2020 and earlier in 2025.Fans and well-wishers have flooded his comment section with relief and support, celebrating the reassurance that the legendary musician remains in good health.
