The management of Crescent University, Abeokuta, has dismissed as false a social media report claiming that the Council of Legal Education (CLE) suspended admissions into the university’s law degree program.
In a statement released by the institution, the university described the rumour as baseless, mischievous, and misleading.
The Registrar of Crescent University, in a telephone conversation with Ms. Ronke Osho, Director of Administration and Acting Secretary to the Council of Legal Education, confirmed the falsehood. “I am surprised by the information. I can assure you that it did not originate from the Council of Legal Education,” Ms. Osho stated.
The university emphasized that its law program is among the best in Nigeria, with graduates excelling at the Nigerian Law School and securing placements in prestigious postgraduate programs in the UK, Canada, and the USA.
Many of the university’s law graduates also occupy positions in leading law firms, multinational corporations, and top companies across various industries.
Crescent University urged parents, students, and stakeholders to disregard the fake report, which it described as an attempt by detractors to tarnish the institution’s reputation.
The management also appealed to the public to verify information about the university’s programs through official regulatory bodies such as the Council of Legal Education (CLE), the National Universities Commission (NUC), or the university’s official website.
