Ashaiman, Washington —
A young boy was apprehended by local Muslim youths for allegedly using pages from the Qur’an as toilet paper in a nearby bush frequently used for open defecation.
The incident came to light after residents observed torn pages from the Qur’an scattered in the area, prompting concerns within the Muslim community.
Troubled by the discovery, the youth reported the matter to the local Imam and began monitoring the area to identify the culprit.
Following several days of surveillance, the boy was caught in the act. Upon questioning, he revealed that the Qur’an in his possession had belonged to his late father, who was a Muslim.
The boy, who identified as a Christian, admitted to having little knowledge about the sacredness of the Qur’an in Islam.
The Imam, along with community leaders, is working to resolve the matter peacefully while urging residents to respect religious texts and promote harmony within the diverse community.
