According to a report by Daily Post Nigeria, on 4th September 2025. The Zamfara State Chapter of the All Progress Congress (APC) has dismissed claims by former Senator Kabiru Garba Marafa that he secured one million votes for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu during the 2023 presidential elections.
In a statement released in Gusau on Wednesday, the state APC chairman, Alhaji Tukur Umar Danfulani, described Marafa’s remarks as “empty boasting”, stressing that Tinubu’s votes in Zamfara came from the Party’s structures and respected leaders, not from individuals.
“The truth is that Marafa was voted out of the Senate by his own constituents in 2019, he he is yet to recover from that political defeat . Even during the 2023 polls, he made baseless claims that he had no bearing on the outcome of the elections”, Danfulani said.
He further added that Marafa lacked the capacity to deliver votes. “Marafa could not even win his own constituency elections, talk less of securing one million bites for President Tinubu. Those votes came because of the people’s faith in our party and the leadership of figures like Bello Matawalle, Senator Abdul Aziz Yaru and others who have carried our members along”, he said.
