Miss Ijeoma Franca a sister to Mr Micheal Amechi an inmate in kuje was caught by the Prison officials while smuggling some substances percieved to be Indian hemp into the facilities in Abuja.
According to a report by the punch newspapers,the substance was wrapped in a biscuit nylon but was uncovered during the normal routine search of Visitors at the entry of the prison.
The FCT prison command spokesman, Humphrey Chukwuedo said “During the interrogation, she claimed that one Mr. Daniel had engaged her to take some package to his brother, Mr. Miracle Amechi who is an inmate in Kuje prison and the package includes a carton of spicy biscuit, rolls of milk and milo, shirts and #2500 and that she was ignorant of the real contents of the carton of spicy biscuit”.
The spokesperson further reiterated the need of the support of the public to combat such cases and warned that the use of harmful substances is very bad and harmful .Miss Franca has been handed over to the National Agency for Food and Drugs Control.
