There are strong indications that the lingering issue between Senator Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan, representing Kogi Central under the PDP, and the Senate President, Senator Godswill Akpabio, may have been resolved.
On Tuesday, September 23, 2025, Senator Natasha was finally granted full access into the National Assembly premises after her office was unsealed by the Senate authorities.
Recall that since her swearing-in, Senator Natasha had repeatedly raised concerns about being denied access to her office, despite being duly elected and recognized as a senator. The issue sparked widespread reactions, especially from her supporters and civil society groups who accused the Senate leadership of political witch-hunt and marginalization.
Her media team also claimed that the senator was subjected to unfair treatment, alleging that her exclusion from committee assignments and other legislative functions was a calculated attempt to silence her.
However, fresh developments on Tuesday showed that the tides may have changed as her office was finally opened, and she was seen accessing her space at the National Assembly complex.
Although no official statement has been released by the Senate President’s office, sources say the move might be a result of increasing public pressure and calls for fairness and inclusivity in the Red Chamber.
Senator Natasha is yet to make an official comment on the development, but her supporters have taken to social media to celebrate what they describe as “a victory for democracy and justice.”
