The president of the Theatre and Movie Practitioners Association of Nigeria , Bolaji Amusan popularly known as Mr Latin, has advised students of mass communication across five different schools to prioritize their education and practicals in a bid to excel as he delivered a short speech at the Media literacy and capacity building for selected youths in Lagos , held at the Afe Babalola Hall , department of mass communication, University of Lagos by the National Film and Video Censors Board.
Bolaji Amusan in a short speech delivered at the event narrated how he had to enrol for higher education after getting his practical certificate stating that both the practical and theoritical aspect is key to the success of every profession.
He said ” I and my colleagues in the industry discuss issues and I hear them say I have this degree in mass communication , I have that degree in theatre arts but when I ask myself , I realise that I only have the practical certificate. I took it upon myself to return to the class room , and to the glory of God , today , I am currently a 400L student in the National open University of nigeria.”
The event was attended by various experts in film making, creative design, cinematography, screenwriting and art direction. The event which is holding for two days is to serve as a training platform for the selected youths across five different Institutions which include Lagos State University Of Science and Technology, Lagos State University , University of Lagos , Yaba college of technology and The Trinity University.
