The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has confirmed the elimination of several terrorists and the destruction of their enclave in Bula Madibale, located within the Gezuwa general area of Borno State.
In a statement issued on Thursday, NAF spokesperson Air Commodore Edward Gabkwet revealed that the precision airstrikes were conducted around 8:50 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17. The operation followed credible intelligence and surveillance which identified a gathering of approximately 45 terrorists in the area.
Gabkwet noted that two terrorist flags were visibly hoisted at the site, indicating its use as a major stronghold and rallying base for the insurgents.
“Acting on this credible intelligence, the Air Component of Operation Hadin Kai launched a well-coordinated air interdiction mission,” the statement read. “The strikes had a devastating impact, neutralising several terrorists and destroying the flagged structure along with other hostile assets.”
The Nigerian military continues its efforts to dismantle terrorist networks in the North-East region, as part of the ongoing Operation Hadin Kai.
