President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has appointed Ms. Rinsola Abiola, daughter of the late Chief Moshood Kashimawo Olawale (MKO) Abiola, as the new Director-General of the Citizenship and Leadership Training Centre (CLTC) in Abuja.
The announcement, made by the Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, highlights Ms. Abiola’s background in strategic communication, government relations, and her previous role as a Senior Special Assistant. The CLTC focuses on promoting leadership, patriotism, and civic responsibility across Nigeria.
Her father, MKO Abiola, is remembered for his role in Nigeria’s pro-democracy movement and as the presumed winner of the annulled June 12, 1993, presidential election.
President Tinubu also named Nasir Bala Aminu Ja’oji as Senior Special Assistant on Citizenship and Leadership. Ja’oji, a former adviser to the Kano State Governor and member of the Coordinated Arewa Youth Groups, is known for his work in women and youth empowerment.
While the appointments come amid criticism that the administration favors political allies, the Presidency maintains that selections are based on competence and dedication to service. Both appointees are expected to advance leadership values and civic engagement nationwide.
