A man identified as Aliyu Yaro has allegedly taken the life of his three day old son after his girlfriend called him up to take up responsibilities after delivery.
Aliyu, 19 years of age , was arrested by the Adamawa state police command after his girlfriend Safiya made a report that he has killed their three day old son.
Aliyu confessed to the crime saying that he impregnated the mother of the deceased, who happens to be his girlfriend. After the delivery, she continued to call him to come and take responsibility for the baby. Aliyu said he went to his girlfriend’s house at night after receiving a call. He took the infant after sending the mother to fetch water for him.
Morris Dankombo, The commissioner of police Adamawa state command expressed displeasure over the incident and has ordered a transfer of the case to the criminal investigation department for further investigations
