Former leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Osun State, Hon. Emmanuel Salako, has officially joined the All Progressives Congress (APC) alongside hundreds of his supporters, citing President Bola Tinubu’s “sterling performance” as the key reason for his defection.
Salako, who previously led the PDP in the Boluwaduro/Boripe State Constituency, made the announcement during a political gathering in Otan-Aiyegbaju. He urged residents to take advantage of upcoming political activities to install a government of their choice in the 2026 Osun governorship election.
“People should forget about politics and give honour to whom it is due. President Tinubu has been performing wonders to keep the nation afloat in all ramifications,” he said.
Salako expressed confidence in the APC’s growing influence in Osun State, claiming that the PDP had become a “mere carcass” due to the defection of key members to the ruling party.
“With the situation on ground, there’s no doubt the APC will take over the next government in Osun. The PDP is now just a shadow of itself,” he added.
