As the physical aspect of the Continuous Voter Registration (CVR) exercise commences in Delta State, registrants have charged the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to increase the number of personnel at the registration centres to ease the process.
INEC sets up two registration centres in each of Delta State’s 25 local government areas and the state’s Head office in Asaba to execute the registration.
Mr Ameachi Desmond, at the INEC centre in Ogwashi-Ukwu in Aniocha South local government area and Mrs Blessing Kamkwu at Oshimili South local government area, made the request despite admitting that the queue was moving.
Meanwhile, INEC resident electoral commissioner (REC) in the state, Sir Etekamba Umoren, has led the management team to supervise Day 1 of the physical registration exercise in Oshimili South and Aniocha South local government areas.
Umoren said equipment and materials have been delivered to all registration centres, noting the commission has trained personnel for a detailed execution of the CVR activity.
